Amazon Drops Solar 4x4 Post Cap Lights 6-Pack to $18

October 1, 2026 — Amazon has reduced the price of its popular 6-pack of modern plastic solar post cap lights to $18, marking a significant discount for homeowners looking to upgrade their outdoor perimeter. According to Dealnews.com, this is the best price Amazon has ever charged for this specific 6-pack, which includes free shipping for Prime members. These units feature 8 warm white SMD LEDs and a 15-lumen output designed to fit various post sizes from 3.5 to 5.5 inches.

I’ve looked at plenty of these fixtures, and while the price is tempting, you need to know what you’re getting. These are plastic units with an IP44 waterproof rating. They aren't heavy-duty, but they are functional. According to Dealnews.com, the current $18 price point makes these some of the most affordable multi-pack options on the market right now. For context, these lights offer 15 lumens of brightness, which the manufacturer claims is three times brighter than standard garden stakes.

If you're on a budget, these are a solid pick for a standard backyard fence. However, if you want something that will survive a decade of harsh winters, you might want to look at aluminum alternatives. Between these two, I’d go with the plastic 6-pack if you just need to mark a path, but I’d choose a glass-and-metal fixture for a high-traffic front porch. Here’s what I’d actually buy: I’d grab two packs of these for a side yard fence where utility matters more than high-end finishes.

Expert tip: Since these require 6-8 hours of direct sunlight to reach full charge, avoid mounting them under heavy tree canopies or north-facing eaves. Even with 15 lumens, a partial charge will result in a dim glow that fades before midnight.

Skip this if you are looking for high-security spotlights; these are decorative markers, not floodlights. If you are comparing these to solar fence post lights or 4x4 solar post caps, the main draw here is the multi-size base compatibility. Most deck post solar lights are fixed to one size, but these include adapters for 3.5-inch to 5.5-inch posts. For those with vinyl fence solar lights needs, the white plastic housing blends well with standard PVC fencing.

These lights offer a practical way to add 360-degree illumination to your yard without hiring an electrician. While they aren't permanent architectural fixtures, the $3-per-light cost is hard to beat for basic visibility.
